Woven Landscapes, Connected Threads - Interlacing Culture, Community and Place in Sussex

📍29 May | 10am–4.30pm | University of Sussex

Across Sussex, communities are finding new ways to shape the future of the places they call home—from coastal towns to market villages, chalk downlands to urban centres.

Artists, community organisers, researchers, and local institutions are working together to tackle shared challenges—whether improving wellbeing, restoring our relationship with the land, or finding creative ways to revive high streets and local economies.

On 29 May, we’re bringing these threads together in one room.
This symposium invites people from across Sussex to explore how culture and creativity are helping reimagine what’s possible—through inclusive, participatory approaches rooted in place.
