Research Digest: Culture and placemaking
I’ve been involved in an extended conversation with Centre for Cultural Value for a while now about placemaking, beginning with being part of a expert advisory group to get its thinking started on culture and placemaking, and now most recently in casting an editorial eye over its latest research digest, which summarises the key insights from 126 studies looking into culture and placemaking and considers how people can be placed at the heart of cultural policymaking.
Written by CCV’s John Wright, Ava Podgorski and Kyla Tully, Research Digest: Culture and Placemaking can be found here, and its highlights, for a short summary of the key takeaways, is here.
It is a through and rigorous piece of research and such a timely one for the UK placemaking sector now, and as CCV rightly states, ‘existing research can act as a guide for exploring this complex topic’, and this is just that.
My conversation with CCV continues – watch this space for news of an event in June.
