London Road place collaboration - with Vincent Dance Company & Quiet Down There
As one of the facilitators at January's creative community gathering, and wearing my placemaker, Phoenix Art Space Chair and former London Road neighbour hats, I'm thoroughly invested in this grassroots approach to neighbourhood transformation. A huge thank you to Charlotte from Vincent Dance Theatre and Lucy, from Quiet Down There, for bringing me on board.
The meeting at New England House sparked exciting connections between our local creative, health and community sectors. What energises me is seeing how a place-based approach to health and wellbeing can so effectively be catalyzed by the arts - from dance to visual arts, creativity is proving to be a powerful force for positive change in our neighbourhood.
Having lived just off London Road for nearly a decade, I've experienced its dynamic character and seen its potential as a creative health hub. Now, witnessing a diverse mix of local organisations coming together to nurture this vision feels particularly meaningful. This is place-based change in action, where arts and wellbeing intersect to create stronger, healthier communities.
